Hjørring Business Centre is a foundation established by the Hirtshals Chamber of Commerce, Hjørring Chamber of Commerce, Løkken-Vrå Chamber of Commerce and Sindal Development Centre. The foundation is led by a board of five members appointed by the Chambers of Commerce. 

The mission of Hjørring Business Centre originates in the Danish Business Promotion Act (Erhvervsfremmeloven), which enables a municipality to offer business services through an independent legal body to an open group of entrepreneurs and companies.

The board of the Hjørring Business Centre influences the business policy area through a Business Development Forum – a broadly based forum where business people and representatives of tourism, trade and education as well as the labour market parties engage in dialogue with the local politicians about the formulation of the Council’s business policy.

The business policy decisions are then translated into specific actions through the political committees, such as the Committee for Rural Districts, Business and Tourism, e.g. via a performance contract with Hjørring Business Centre.

Local businesses can influence this work by joining the Chambers of Commerce. Hjørring Business Centre does not accept members itself.
